Zoa Scan is designed to help reef aquarium hobbyists discover, identify and find zoanthids, corals and related products offered by independent retailers.
Using Zoa Scan is generally free for visitors.
To support the operation and development of the website, Zoa Scan may earn revenue through advertising, affiliate arrangements, retailer subscriptions, sponsorships, promoted listings and other commercial partnerships.
This is important.
Zoa Scan does not sell the coral or other livestock displayed in third-party retailer listings.
When you select a retailer offer and leave Zoa Scan to complete a purchase, you are purchasing from the retailer identified on that offer.
Your contract is with that retailer.
The retailer is responsible for the livestock, description, condition, price, payment, packaging, delivery, guarantee, DOA policy, refund policy and customer service relating to your purchase.
A commission or advertising payment received by Zoa Scan does not make Zoa Scan the seller of that livestock.
Some links on Zoa Scan are affiliate links.
This means that if you follow a link from Zoa Scan to a retailer and subsequently make a purchase or complete another qualifying action, Zoa Scan may receive a commission or referral payment.
The retailer determines the price you pay.
Affiliate arrangements may be tracked using cookies, referral identifiers or similar technologies, subject to applicable privacy and cookie requirements.

A sponsored or promoted listing should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the retailer, coral or product is better than an alternative.
Not every search result or listing on Zoa Scan is paid advertising.
Organic results may be displayed based on factors such as relevance, matching, availability, information quality, location, popularity, price or other search criteria.
Commercial arrangements may also influence certain placements.
Where a payment directly affects the prominence of a particular listing, we will seek to identify that listing clearly as commercial content.
Zoa Scan may have different commercial relationships with different retailers.
For example, one retailer may participate in an affiliate programme, another may pay for advertising, another may subscribe to retailer features and another may appear without making any payment to Zoa Scan.
The absence of an advertising or affiliate relationship does not necessarily prevent a retailer from appearing on Zoa Scan.
Similarly, a commercial relationship does not mean Zoa Scan guarantees or endorses every livestock specimen offered by that retailer.
Payment does not entitle an advertiser or affiliate partner to require Zoa Scan to publish information that we know to be false or misleading.
We may correct, standardise, categorise or remove retailer information where we consider this appropriate.
Zoanthid names, morph identifications, reference photographs and similar information may involve judgement and should not be considered scientific certification or a guarantee of lineage.
Images used by Zoa Scan may sometimes be standardised, cropped, enhanced, magnified, composited or otherwise processed to create a consistent visual reference.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a reference image is not necessarily a photograph of the exact specimen offered for sale by a retailer.
The retailer is responsible for accurately describing the livestock it is selling.
The presence of a retailer or livestock listing on Zoa Scan does not amount to a guarantee by Zoa Scan regarding:
Questions or complaints concerning a purchase should be directed to the retailer involved.
Where Zoa Scan publishes reviews, recommendations, featured content or editorial selections, we will distinguish advertising or paid commercial content where required.
If Zoa Scan receives payment, commission, free goods, services or another material commercial benefit connected with particular promotional content, we will disclose that relationship where appropriate.
Affiliate networks, advertising providers or analytics services may use cookies or similar technologies to measure referrals and advertising performance.
Where consent is required for these technologies, they will only be used after the relevant consent has been obtained.
