HOW IT WORKS

We don’t sell zoas.
We help you find them.

Zoa Scan brings zoanthids available from UK retailers and fellow keepers into one clear catalogue. Find the morph you want, compare the offers, then go directly to the source or list your own captive-grown frag for the community.

FOUR SIMPLE STEPS

Find it. Compare it.
Go direct.

01

Find your zoa

Search by morph name, alias or colour and discover what’s available across the UK.

02

Compare the offer

See price, availability, polyp count and seller details together, with useful context intact.

03

Go direct

Retailer offers link straight to the original sales website. Zoa Scan doesn’t handle the checkout or take a cut.

04

List your frag

Got a genuine WYSIWYG, captive-grown frag available? Add your own moderated community listing.

One place to find, compare and list zoanthids across the UK.

OPEN METHODOLOGY

Behind the catalogue

The detail behind how sources are approved, product evidence is preserved and morph matches are labelled.

01

Discover responsibly

Approved public catalogues are checked at low frequency. Robots instructions, retailer terms, throttling and opt-out status are evaluated before a connector is enabled.

02

Preserve the source

We keep the original product title, URL, observed price, stock state and evidence timestamp. Full descriptions and unlicensed photographs are not copied.

03

Normalise cautiously

Punctuation, filler terms, polyp counts and common abbreviations are normalised before names and known aliases are compared.

04

Match with confidence

Only high-confidence, unambiguous matches are confirmed automatically. Likely, disputed and unidentified records remain visibly labelled.

05

Compare factually

Total price and price per polyp are shown only when the retailer supplies a usable count. Delivery and WYSIWYG context remain visible.

06

Notify once

Alert evidence is fingerprinted so an unchanged offer does not produce repeated service emails.

Matching confidence

Verified

Strong alias/source evidence and no meaningful conflicting identity.

Likely

Good evidence, but trade-name variation or photography prevents certainty.

Disputed

Competing names or identities are in active use; they are not silently merged.

Unidentified

A working catalogue record awaiting better evidence.

Organic and sponsored results

Organic offer rankings are computed without sponsorship. Paid placements sit in labelled, visually separated areas and never change an unlabeled price order. Zoa Scan does not calculate affiliate commission or take a share of coral sales.

Corrections are part of the method

Retailers, photographers, breeders and hobbyists can submit corrections, rights information or opt-out requests. Evidence and administrative decisions are retained in an audit history.
