COMMUNITY BUYING CHECKLIST

Buy carefully from community sellers

Community listings are posted by individual Zoa Scan members. We review listing content before publication, but we do not inspect the livestock, verify every seller or guarantee the accuracy of every claim.

Before agreeing to buy:

Ask for a recent photograph of the exact frag being sold.
Confirm the morph name, polyp count, condition and whether any pests or diseases are known or suspected.
Check whether the seller is acting as a private individual or a business.
Agree the full price, payment method, collection or delivery arrangements and any live-arrival terms in writing.
Use a payment method that offers appropriate buyer protection. Check whether its protection covers live animals before paying.
Avoid direct bank transfers to sellers you do not know or cannot verify.
Keep copies of the listing, messages, photographs and payment receipt.
Never feel pressured to complete a purchase. If something does not feel right, stop and report the listing.

Captive-grown declared by sellers

Sellers must provide a genuine photograph and declare the frag's origin. Zoa Scan reviews listing content before publication but does not inspect or certify livestock.

Direct agreement between buyer and seller

Zoa Scan provides a moderated advertising and discovery service for community listings. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Zoa Scan is not the seller, buyer, agent, payment provider, courier or contracting party in a community transaction.

Any purchase, payment, collection, delivery or other agreement is made directly between the buyer and seller. Zoa Scan does not take possession of listed livestock and cannot guarantee:

A seller's identity, reliability or conduct.
The accuracy of a listing or morph identification.
The health, condition, provenance or captive-grown status of livestock.
That livestock is free from pests, disease or palytoxin.
Successful collection, delivery, acclimation or survival.
The availability of refunds, replacements or payment protection.

Listing moderation checks whether a submission appears suitable for publication. It is not an inspection of the livestock, verification of every statement or endorsement of the seller.

Buyers are responsible for carrying out their own checks, deciding whether a purchase is suitable and agreeing transaction terms directly with the seller. Sellers remain responsible for their listings, representations and legal obligations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zoa Scan is not responsible for losses arising from transactions between marketplace users. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits any liability, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
